It's rare that radio introduces me to new music that actually moves me. But it happened tonight.

Usually I hear about new music from friends, or Pitchfork Media, or any number of other venues. But not radio. Never radio. Til tonight.

I heard Handlebars by Flobot tonight on Live 105, and I had to stop my car to listen to the rest of the song.

Finally... a song ABOUT something real. Compelling. Visceral. Hope there's more from where that came.

I had to watch that three times; that's some insane intensity.

Great stuff, reminds me a bit of Soul Coughing/Mike Doughty. I'm the same, no radio in my world...

Thanks for the tip, Garry. Always looking for new tunes, will check it out.

I found that a great place to find and try out new music is lala.com. You can listen to any song free once, then it's like .10 to own it "online", .89 to own it outright. Pretty cool site (that I'm NOT affiliated with, btw)

Garry,

My 13 year old son introduced me to this song (was playing on his iPod touch that was hooked up to my Kenwood in the car) and, like you, I just stopped everything I was doing and turned up the volume. The song is great, but the best part was listening to my son explain to me, in his own words, what this song was about...what it meant...how he interpreted it. Amazing.

Lyrically, with the exception of 'Happy Together', Flobot seems to be on an operatic kick.
